Air pre-heating and air conditioning equipment can be purchased for around Rs 1.25 lakh, while the standard equipment, including the air conditioning unit, can be sold for around 3,000.
The gearbox is made by the same company that makes the air conditioner in the country, the Indian Air Force said on Friday.
According to an announcement on the website of the Air Quality Management Authority (AQMA), the air-conditioning equipment can also be purchased in India at the same price as the standard gear.
Air conditioner maker Nippon Tatsu also manufactures the gearbox.
“The gearbox that is part of the airconditioner is sold for Rs 2,000 and can be bought for Rs 3,200,” the company said in a statement.
