Dual shift gearboxes and AMT gearboxes are two engine variants introduced in the 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
AMT engines are more compact and efficient compared to their twin-scroll turbocharged counterparts.
AMTs can also be used for high-performance sports cars, such as the C63 AMG, while dual-shift gearboxes can be used in some of the fastest F1 machinery.
The new AMT engine in the C3.0 will feature the same engine architecture as the Mercedes-Benz C63, with its six-cylinder and twin-turbo engine producing the same torque as the twin-cam twin-rotor.
The AMT has been the subject of much speculation in the sportscar world since its introduction.
How does the new AMG-based engine perform compared to the C53 AMG and the C67 AMG?
We’ll start with the C73 AMG.
The C73 engine is a three-cylinders engine, but is also powered by a six-stroke V8 engine, which is located in the middle of the cylinder.
This allows the engine to produce more power than a conventional two-stroke turbocharged engine.
We know that the C103 AMG is a turbocharged V8 car.
The engine is rated at 170hp (156kW), which is quite impressive for a supercar, but its power output is limited by the small turbocharger.
The top speed of the C93 AMG was reported at 205mph (260km/h).
How does this compare to the twin turbo C63?
As you might expect, the C33 AMG’s twin-cyl, twin-rover V8 turbo is rated for 150hp (106kW).
The C3 engine, on the other hand, uses a four-cylindered, four-stroke engine, while the engine’s rated at 150hp.
The power output of the AMG V8 is actually quite impressive, though it’s still quite limited compared to that of the twin C63 engine.
How much torque does the C133 AMG offer?
It will also have the same turbocharged 4.0L V8, which can reach 320hp (255kW) at its peak.
The output of this engine is said to be at 805Nm (4.8L/36hp) of torque, which comes to an impressive 6,300Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
The maximum torque output of a single-turbon engine is typically between 1,400 and 1,600Nm.
As a result, a four cylinder engine can produce more torque than a twin-bore engine.
What do the AMT and C133 engines do for the CTS?
In terms of power, the AMTs and C63s have a significant advantage in the AMX and C35.
AMIs have higher output torque, and the engines can also reach a maximum torque of 5,500Nm at 3,000kW.
The best part about these engines is that they’re all geared to the same maximum power output, and therefore can be run at lower speeds.
The downside of the engines is they’re both fairly slow, which means that they are unlikely to be used as the primary powertrain for supercars.
How do the C83 and C86 engines compare?
The C83 engine is the fastest of the turbocharged C3 engines.
The supercharged engine is currently rated at 205hp (155kW); the C100 engine will be rated at 200hp (185kW.)
In terms, the power output between these two engines is estimated to be between 1.4 and 1.7kw.
As you can see, the best part of the engine is its high torque output.
As well, the turbochargers in the two engines are tuned differently, as they’re geared towards higher revs and higher peak power.
It will be interesting to see how the turbo engines of the two cars behave when they’re fitted with twin-cams.
Are there any other engine variants in the 2018 Mercedes- AMG GT?
The next generation of the Mercedes Benz C3 will be the C65 AMG powered by the V8-powered C63.
This engine is supposed to offer a peak torque output that is comparable to that found in the Mercedes AMG C63 with its four-valve engine.
It’s expected to be a more powerful version of the V6-powered engine.
Is this engine in production yet?
There’s no word yet on when the C35 AMG will arrive.
