The Porsche 911 GT3 RS will go on sale in the United States later this month, but it’s not quite ready for prime time just yet.
The 2018 model year will be powered by the latest version of the 918 Spyder engine that makes up the 928 platform, but will it be the same one we’ve seen before?
Porsche is hoping the new GT3 won’t be able to compete against the current 911 GT2 and GT3, but if it does, we might be able see a little more from it.
According to a Porsche spokesperson, the 2018 Porsche 911 Sport Quattro will be the first GT3-powered car to use the new turbocharged powertrain, but that doesn’t mean it will be a direct replacement for the 914-powered 911 Turbo.
Instead, it’ll be a much more powerful version of Porsche’s 911 Turbo, with the car able to reach top speeds of around 140mph and reach a top speed of more than 200mph.
Porsche’s GT3 Quattros will be available from June, but the company is currently in the process of testing and preparing the car for launch.
The Porsche GT3 will be priced at $135,900 when it hits the market, and it will only be available in limited numbers, only a handful of which will be sold.
